BuildTown Leadership Creed
Built by Hands. Guided by Heart.
At BuildTown, we believe in the kind of strength you can’t buy — the kind that’s built one day, one lesson, one act of integrity at a time.
We were raised by people who worked hard, lived modestly, and took pride in a job done right. They didn’t chase applause — they earned respect. They showed up early, stayed late, and treated their team like family. When they retired, the whole town showed up — because their legacy wasn’t their title; it was their character.
We carry those values forward:
-
Work Hard and Stay Humble.
There’s no substitute for effort. Every screw turned, every board measured, every cleanup counts. -
Value People Over Profit.
We build with people, not for them. Everyone here matters — from the smallest kid in the shop to the oldest hand on the team. -
Earn Respect, Don’t Demand It.
The best leaders listen more than they talk, teach more than they tell, and serve more than they’re served. -
Take Care of What You Build.
Whether it’s a workbench, a friendship, or a community — we leave it better than we found it. -
Be Grateful, Always.
We honor the generations who came before us — those who built this country with sweat, skill, and selflessness. Their legacy is our blueprint.
From Ann's Workbench
BuildTown was born from the values passed down through generations of my family — beginning with my grandfathers, both WWII veterans who worked their way up from the shop floor to leadership. They were steady, humble, and deeply respected because they never forgot where they came from.
They taught my parents those same lessons: work hard, stay grateful, and take pride in what you build. My dad passed them on to me in the garage, teaching me how to use tools and fix things with my own hands. My mom did the same at the kitchen table — showing me the joy of crafting, creating, and paying attention to the details that make something beautiful.
Those experiences shaped me completely. Building and creating aren’t just hobbies — they’re the language of love I was raised with. They’re the foundation of who I am.
Now, I’m passing those same values on to my boys — teaching them that real success isn’t about money or titles, but about working hard, staying kind, and taking pride in what you build and who you become. Every project we take on together, whether it’s fixing something around the house or dreaming up a new idea, carries a piece of the generations before us.
BuildTown carries that same spirit. We teach kids, families, and communities that building isn’t just about wood and nails — it’s about character, teamwork, and pride in doing things the right way.
My hope is that every student, every parent, and every builder who walks through our doors feels a little bit of that same small-town magic — that sense of belonging, gratitude, and purpose that comes from building something real.
